Child + Family Play Therapy

What is Child + Family Play Therapy?

Child and family play therapy is an approach to therapy that helps both the child and the parent. In child and family play therapy, your child learns the skills they need to thrive and you, as the parent, learn the skills you need to help guide your child through the ups and downs of life.

Working with your child

Play Therapy

“Play is the work of childhood.”

Through play, your child will express deeper feelings and themes that will allow me to understand the core of what is causing them distress. Throughout my time with your child, we will uncover the core of the distress while also learning new skills to cope with life’s challenges.

In the playroom, I assess your child’s areas of strength and areas in need of growth. When we are together, I help your child continue to build on their strengths while encouraging them to expand in the areas needed for growth.

Working with you

Parent Coaching

As your child is working hard in the playroom, I am working to understand the meaning of their play. After a few sessions of working with your child, I meet with you to discuss sessions with the child and provide suggestions for things to change at home.

In our parent coaching sessions, we work collaboratively together to figure out what your child needs most from you. We talk about what’s going on at home and put our heads together to help guide your family towards harmony.
